A Message to the Nation from Shri Subodh Kant Sahay
As a political figure for nearly four decades (Member of Parliament and Union Minister), I have sincerely dedicated myself to the service of people and have worked tirelessly for the nation’s progress.
Principles of secular democracy, inclusive development and protecting the identity and dignity of all communities have been the guiding light in my political journey.
As Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, I successfully handled the Mega Food Park scheme initiative, tirelessly working to transform India's agricultural and food sector. My vision was not just to take it merely as a policy initiative but to bridge the gap between our farmers and global markets, strengthen supply chains, to reduce waste, and to create dignified employment.
By establishing the Food Safety and Standards Authority, we ensured that every Indian family could trust the food on their table—that is safe and nutritious, prevents diseases and leads to a healthy and happy life.
My tenure as Minister for Tourism demonstrated my belief that economic growth and cultural preservation must go hand in hand. Tourism is not just about numbers and revenue—it is about enabling people to understand our rich heritage, to appreciate our diversity, and to create sustainable livelihoods in our communities.
I have remained steadfastly committed to safeguarding the identity, dignity, and political representation of my community—the Kayastha community and the broader minorities and marginalized groups. This commitment flows from our nation's constitutional values of equality and fraternity.
